What You’ll Be Eating

The micro brewing / craft beer market has exploded over the past few years as consumers’ beer palates across North America have become more sophisticated.

Kiwanis AleFest is first and foremost a showcase and celebration of craft beer. However, the event will feature an inspired selection of complementary food, music and art to delight the senses, and heighten the beer tasting experience for attendees.

Step inside and feel the intimate and friendly vibe you immediately expect from an Irish Public House. Quiet corners to hide away and nurse one of your favourite draught beers from our ‘Brass Cascade’ tap system, boasting a mix of 10 Irish and domestic craft brews and ciders. Enjoy some live entertainment or just mix and mingle. Sit down and enjoy a complex Irish single pot whiskey or choose a glass of wine from our revolving wine list in the lounge area.

Nancy O’s

Proprietors: Garrett Fedorkiw & Eoin Foley

Since opening in 2009, proprietors Garrett Fedorkiw and Eoin Foley have been major catalysts for downtown revitalization, the local arts and farm table movements, and of course craft beer. They’re arguably the best small venue for live entertainment in Prince George, hosting over 120 live acts each year including comedians, DJs and touring bands. Nancy O’s decor and rustic small bistro charm, along with its menu of inspired and delicious appetizers, entrees, sandwiches, salads, pastas and sides leaves one coming back time after time. It certainly helps that it sources local ingredients from folks like Hope Farms, Northern Bioponics, Whispering Winds Ranch and Pastry Chef. Of course our favourite part is their constantly changing wall of local, BC and international craft beers, and a feature guest list of craft beers that helps drive new beer discovery.

Betulla Burning Pizzeria

Proprietors: Garrett Fedorkiw & Eoin Foley

Betulla Burning pizzas are made using ancient Neapolitan techniques with sometimes untraditional ingredients. Using only seasoned hardwood, their handmade M.Acunto oven reaches temperatures of up to 1000 degrees, cooking pizzas in under 90 seconds. The dough is made from “00” Caputo flour, water, salt, and yeast and is naturally leavened for 72 hours before serving. They consider each pizza to be a work of art!

Trench Brewing & Distilling

What began initially as a hobby for a small group of friends has emerged as Prince George’s newest micro-brewery. After more than a year of preparation, Trench Brewing officially opened their doors of its own tasting room. The space boasts an impressive brewing operation, with seven 1,200 litre Newlands Brewings tanks, and a 1,000 liter kettle which owners hope to use for distilling vodka and gin. The brewery has many local brews on tap, most named after popular outdoor landmarks that will be familiar to locals.

Opened in early 2017 by local owners Daryl Leiski and Bjorn Butow, CrossRoads Brewing & Distillery has had a busy first few years of business. Their bright and welcoming tasting room is a great environment to watch the brewing process, hang out with friends, and relax on the large patio in the summer. CrossRoads continues to roll out delicious dishes from their kitchen – including pizzas, appetizers, salads and main entrees. You can’t go wrong with a fresh pint and a CrossRoads pizza! Join them for lunch daily for delicious made-fresh in house soups, sandwiches, and salads. Also open for brunch on Saturday and Sunday starting at 10am.

Baller Food

Baller Food

Food shaped like balls… Think meatballs, subs, arancini, caprese, spaghetti balls with meat sauce, mac and cheese fritters, koftkas, albondigas, falafel… You name it! We’re rolling it out!

The Baller Food Truck brand was born out of the pandemic. When daycares closed and I lost my job, I cooked ALOT. It’s always been the other passion in my life. Now it’s my time to role out my own menu!

Frozen Paddle Ice Creamery

Encouraged by the local movement of craft breweries across Canada in late 2014, Co-Founders Wes Pederson and Kevin Pederson looked to other industries that brought communities together and landed on ice cream. Shortly thereafter, Wes attended Penn State’s Ice Cream Short Course to get a better understanding of the food science behind what makes good ice cream and officially became the CIO (Chief Ice Cream Officer). They pride themselves on creating happiness one scoop or frozen treat at a time – based out of their storefront on Coward Road or from their mobile truck at events. Join their exclusive Winter Pints Membership and get free delivery of ice cream right to your home or office. Yes! Even when its snowed 3 feet and its -25 outside you’ll still receive 3 pints of delicious, fresh, locally made, unique ice cream flavours on your doorstep.

Great staff, fantastic food and stellar craft beer menu, the Twisted Cork has built a truly unique restaurant with perhaps the most stunning interiors in the city. It fuses the ambiance of an old English pub with an upscale eatery, to create a comfortable casual fine dining experience. Its beer menu features a range of ales and lagers to suit any casual drinker or craft enthusiast. Using fresh local ingredients, its menu explores twists on classics, as well unique tapas and entrees you won’t find elsewhere. We love their family style sharing plates like their cheese boards, tapas tower, and mixed grill platter and cheese fondue.
